In Response To: Uncontrolled tourism development in the Gulf of Mexico. (Peter Wiese)

I would be interested in an elaboration by Peter Wiese of what he considers to be the 'self destruct theory of tourism' from a geologist's perspective.

The Sustainable Economic Development Unit (SEDU) for small island economies (SIDS) which I coordinate out of the Economics Department, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus, Trinidad, has a research programme on sustainable tourism development built around case studies of islands or regions of islands in the Caribbean and is interested in sharing notes with others conducting similar work in the Caribbean or elsewhere.

Mr. Dennis Pantin. Coordinator, Sustainable Economic Development Unit, University of the West Indies, Trinidad.
