I am interested to find out how this change over to the use of local species actually took place. Did the University and the Forest Office (and others?) actively promote the use of Mediterranean species, and if so how did they do this - by example, word of mouth, publicity? Also, over what sort of time period did a significant change take place ? It would be useful if you could provide us with some idea of the process.
